It looks like everyone is accepting this idea that we’re coming out of the pandemic enough to have festivals and conferences again. I’m pleased to see that people are still motivated to hire their favorite storyteller! It’s only February and my roster is filling up quite quickly!
Here’s a list of my current Spring/Summer projects/events:
March 3-6, 2022 — Wild Wild West Con, Tucson Arizona (Prof. Taelstrum)
March 16th, 2022 — MWCN St. Patrick’s Day Concert (myself)
May 13, 2022 — Hudson Valley Pirate Festival, NY State (Victor Maelstrum)
Back in February, I was hired by English Community Organization of Lanaudiere to record some stories in Grace Anglican church in Mascouche (Qc), which is about 45 minutes North East of Montreal.
We then got to work with a local band (Fiddlehead Soup) who recorded music for two of the stories.
The video for this story session was released this past weekend, so here it is! I hope you enjoy it.

My friends down at the Mountain Ancestors ADF Grove are actively supporting our brothers and sisters who are defending Standing Rock. The folks up there need chainsaws: their Elders up there are getting cold and they can’t process the firewood fast enough with the tools they have. Now, we need to get winter clothes and winter lodgings together, as the cold descends.
Please consider making a donation to help them keep the Standing Rock Elders safe!
Here’s what this ADF Grove posted recently on their Facebook page:
As many of you know, our Casey McCarthy is heading to Standing Rock to bring some much-needed winter supplies to the Water Protectors. They are in need of supplies for the winter, and we need your help to get them!
Fellow ADF-member and celebrated Storyteller JD Hobbes is offering a free download of his album, a collection sure to entertain story-lovers of all ages, for all donations over $50. Click on his name for more information and some cool video clips.
I don’t know what’s going on. Normally, summer is the quiet time for storytelling, but 2016 is turning out to be super busy! I’ve already got a dozen shows scheduled, so I’m going to post them here just to keep reminding myself that this isn’t a dream!

So I had the immense honor to share the stage with some of Montreal’s finest poets during the Nuit Blanche festival this year. I was invited to take part by Betty Esperanza (100 Thousand Poets 4 Change) and we were the English portion of a tribute to the late, great Montreal poet Irving Layton. I was also honored to share that stage with Susan Shulman and Regimental Oneton.
Unbeknownst to me, the stories were also recorded by Akim Videos (Youtube site). Photos here were taken by Yvon Jean.

Google Calendar rules my life. I was reviewing it today and I suddenly realized I’ve got a ton of gigs coming up (well a ton for me, which is generally more than one).
I’m leaving this here more as a reminder for myself, but if anyone of you would like to join me at these events, I would love to see you there. Yes, you. Don’t look over your shoulder… I’m talking to you. Right now.
DONE: February 11th, 8pm: Voix de Ville (as Professor Taelstrum)
Welcome to Dave's storyteller website. He redesigned it in October of 2011 and it now features its own blog, links and updates to his storyblog, his latest projects, and the types of shows he can put together as a storyteller.
If you have any questions or feedback on this site or the types of storytelling he does, please drop him a line!
