Back in February, I was hired by English Community Organization of Lanaudiere to record some stories in Grace Anglican church in Mascouche (Qc), which is about 45 minutes North East of Montreal.
We then got to work with a local band (Fiddlehead Soup) who recorded music for two of the stories.
The video for this story session was released this past weekend, so here it is! I hope you enjoy it.
This morning, during my walk to work, I recorded a new story and threw it together on my lunch hour.
In this time of great conflict, we need to remember that working towards peace is a choice each of us must make. If you like this story, please share it widely.
Facebook has this feature called a Live Video which basically streams video out from your phone as you are recording it, then saves the video on your time line. It’s a pretty neat feature because anyone can tune into it and leave comments and likes and such.
Unfortunately, I cannot embed the video here, but if you’re on Facebook, you should be able to see the videos play.
So I had the immense honor to share the stage with some of Montreal’s finest poets during the Nuit Blanche festival this year. I was invited to take part by Betty Esperanza (100 Thousand Poets 4 Change) and we were the English portion of a tribute to the late, great Montreal poet Irving Layton. I was also honored to share that stage with Susan Shulman and Regimental Oneton.
Unbeknownst to me, the stories were also recorded by Akim Videos (Youtube site). Photos here were taken by Yvon Jean.

Back in October, I told a couple of stories at the Yellow Door Coffeehouse hosted by Marc Nerenberg, deep in the McGill student ghetto. Happily, they were video recorded and they just got posted!
These two stories are also featured on my new CD Did You Hear That?, so you should get your copy today, or come by the CD Launch at Le Mariposa on November 19th 2014 (Facebook event).

So I hosted a concert called Driving Out the Snakes II in Montreal on St. Patrick’s Day weekend in 2014 and it was great! Generous audiences, talented musicians, and an energetic step dancer! I also got to tell a few tales and they were recorded, so I’m happy to share one of them.
The videographer is Roy Keys and the event was organized by Aine Doan.

You don’t need to know sign language to be able to appreciate this little girl’s telling of the Night Before Christmas. She could teach us all a few things about storytelling.
Last weekend, I was hosting a fundraiser where we had magicians, musicians, dancers, singers, and storytellers. Happily, my friend Scarlet recorded TaelStrum’s telling of Lex & the Devil.
My favorite moment occurs at 4:50 when I get my Rock Star experience where I realize the crowd is telling the story with me, so I go quiet and let them say it as a group. It was golden.

Welcome to Dave's storyteller website. He redesigned it in October of 2011 and it now features its own blog, links and updates to his storyblog, his latest projects, and the types of shows he can put together as a storyteller.
If you have any questions or feedback on this site or the types of storytelling he does, please drop him a line!
